Pratt Industries is seeking an Assistant Machine Operator for the 1st shift in Bessemer, AL. The role assists the Operator in overseeing press operations and participates in manufacturing items produced during assigned hours. Acts as Operator when absent, ensuring safety and quality in production.

The position requires basic math, computer skills, and the ability to follow procedures; prior corrugated industry experience is a plus. Full-time, hourly, with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform a complete mechanical set up.
• Must be able to accurately register the machine.
• Must operate feed, cutting, stripping and delivery sections of the machine.
• Knowledge of current production software.

Responsibilities

• Follow and ensure crew adheres to safe work policies and procedures.
• Maintain a safe and clean work area.
• Ensure proper mechanical setup and running of the machine.
• Complete orders according to specifications provided.
• Maintain acceptable production rates.
• Complete all paperwork and data entry as required.
• Assist in training crew members and replacements.
• Additional duties may be assigned by management.
