Job summary

ProAmpac is hiring for a production operator at our Granite City, IL facility. This role supports fast-paced manufacturing with a focus on safety, quality, and efficiency. You will operate and monitor packaging machinery, perform routine maintenance, and adhere to GMP standards.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, ability to work a 12-hour rotating shift (7AM-7PM), and lifting up to 50 lbs. The position offers a stable full-time schedule with strong benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Able to work 12hr rotating schedule (7AM-7PM).
• Two years of work experience in a related industry is expected.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ethical conduct is required.
• Problem solving/analysis skills are needed.

Responsibilities

• Threads materials from parent roll through guides and rollers to cutters, gluer, printer, folding device, or electric sealer.
• Starts machine, observes operation, and adjusts machine for uniform output.
• May insert shaft into core and mount roll onto machine using hoist.
• Operates machine to maintain high production with minimal waste and meet speed goals.
• Diagnoses machine problems and corrects issues promptly.
• Performs daily maintenance including oiling and cleaning.
• Multi-tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• Adheres to GMP and AIB regulations.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Threads materials from parent roll through guides and rollers to cutters, gluer, printer, folding device, or electric sealer.
• Starts machine, observes operation, and adjusts machine to ensure uniform shearing, printing, folding, gluing, or sealing of continuous roll of material into finished bags.
• May insert shaft into core of parent roll and secure with steel collars, using hand tools, and mount roll onto machine, using hoist.
• Operates machine in proper manner, maintaining high production and a quality product, with a minimum of waste, while maintaining set goals of machine speeds
• Diagnoses problems on machines and corrects immediately, to keep smooth production flow.
• Performs daily maintenance on machine including: oiling machine, cleaning drum area of machine, re-taping, and scraping down.
• Ability to multi-taskas well aswork in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
• Adheres and maintains equipment to all GMP and AIB regulations at all times.
• Other duties as assigned.

Work primarily in a climate controlled indoor environment with minimal safety/health hazard potential. Hearing protection, safety shoes and vision protection required on the production floor at all times.

This role operates in a professional environment that requires some exposure to a manufacturing environment. Employee is rarely exposed to non-toxic/nuisance smells from chemicals, airborne dust, moving mechanical parts, high noise levels and hot/humid environmental conditions in the manufacturing area during extremely hot summer months.
