Job summary

Montville Township Public Library is seeking an innovative Assistant Library Director/Head of Programs & Services in Montville Township. You will oversee daily operations, supervise staff, and serve in the Director’s absence while collaborating with the Board and local officials.

The role leads public services, programming, outreach, and collection development, with responsibility for Children’s and Young Adult budgets and large family events.

Qualifications

• MLS/MLIS from an ALA-accredited program with NJ certification eligibility.
• Minimum of four years of post-MLS/MLIS experience with leadership.
• Exempt 40-hour workweek and availability for evenings/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for public services, programming, outreach, and collection development.
• Oversee Children’s and Young Adult budgets and events planning.
• Lead marketing, communications, and community engagement efforts.
• Collaborate on strategic planning and fund development, including grants.
