Job summary

Old Bridge Township Public Library seeks an experienced Library Director to oversee all operations, facilities, and service programs for a diverse community. You will report to the Board of Trustees and lead strategic planning, staffing, and budget development to advance library goals.

The role requires strong fiscal management, policy guidance, and collaboration with municipal partners. Experience in a public library setting and NJ certification are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of public library administrative experience.
• MLS or MLIS from an ALA accredited program; NJ State Professional Certification.

Responsibilities

• Prepare annual operating and capital budgets for approval by the Board of Trustees and manage expenditures.
• Oversee maintenance, safety, and condition of library facilities and equipment.
• Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and evaluate library personnel.
• Develop and monitor the library budget and participate in strategic planning with the Board.
• Lead community relations and advocacy to promote library services and programs.
