Qualifications

• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and remain on your feet for extended periods.
• Background check—no criminal convictions
• Previous commercial laboratory or food service prep experience is preferred but not required
• Completed courses in microbiology, biological science, food science, or chemistry and/or Food Handler Certification is preferred but not required

Job description

Work up to 4 evenings per week, part-time (24-32 hours per week), as an Assistant Laboratory Technician for a food testing laboratory in Cypress, CA. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, follows procedures carefully and takes pride in producing accurate, high-quality results. This role is critical in supporting the lab’s commitment to food safety and quality.

Perform basic housekeeping functions and maintain a clean, organized and sanitary laboratory workspace. Operate basic laboratory equipment safely and effectively.
