The Salvation Army Thrift Store in Kansas City, MO is hiring a Kitchen Supervisor to oversee beneficiaries and manage menu planning, inventories, and canteen operations. The role supports rehabilitation programs and requires coordinating with the Kitchen Supervisor on daily activities.

You'll train beneficiaries on safety and compliance, supervise cooking and cleaning, and ensure adherence to Health Department policies while coordinating orders and donations.

Location: Kansas City, MO

Pay: $17 per hour

Job Type: Full-time

Schedule: 40 hours per week, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduled

About The Role

At The Salvation Army Thrift Store, your work helps turn donations into funding for programs that support people in our community. In this role, you’ll oversee beneficiaries in the kitchen while managing inventory, menus, ordering, and canteen operations. This position is crucial in maintaining efficient kitchen operations while supporting our rehabilitation program.

What You’ll Do

Supervision & Training

• Train beneficiaries on Kitchen Safety and Compliance protocols
• Supervise daily work therapy performance, including cooking and cleaning
• Provide regular feedback and direction to beneficiaries
• Ensure compliance with Health Department policies

Menu & Inventory Management

• Create and update menus using Cycle Menu Management System
• Maximize use of donated goods
• Maintain kitchen and canteen inventories
• Generate timely orders based on stock, cost, and needs
• Source and coordinate food donations

Operations Management

• Monitor canteen sales and card tracking
• Maintain kitchen log communications
• Execute Health Department policies
• Prepare for regular inspections
• Coordinate with Kitchen Supervisor on all operations
