Job summary

Ascension's cafe team is seeking a hands-on Cafe Assistant Kitchen Manager to support daily kitchen operations, uphold food safety standards, and ensure top-quality presentation.

You will lead by example, cover for the Cafe Kitchen Manager during absences, participate in special events and off-site catering, and guide the team through busy shifts with strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Restaurant kitchen operations experience required.
• Food and Beverage Manager certification.
• Reliable transportation and travel to all locations.
• Able to work nights and weekends.
• Stand for ~8 hours per day.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a working leader responsible for supporting food quality, food safety, production planning, team development, and operational execution.
• Lead by example, uphold company standards, and oversee kitchen operations during Cafe Kitchen Manager absences.
• Participates in special events including off-site catering and functions.

About the role

The Cafe Assistant Kitchen Manager (AKM) supports the Cafe Kitchen Manager in leading daily kitchen operations andmaintainingoperational excellence across all areas of the kitchen.

The CaféAssistant KitchenManageris responsible fordrivingexceptional standards in food preparation and presentationasestablishedby the Director of Culinary.This role requiresat least45 hoursper work weekincafé. Salary commensurate with experience.
