Job summary

Ascension Coffee is hiring a Café Assistant Kitchen Manager to support the Café Kitchen Manager in daily kitchen operations and uphold high standards for food quality and presentation. This role requires at least 45 hours per week in the café and a commitment to exceptional guest experiences.

You will lead by example, oversee kitchen tasks when the manager is absent, and participate in events such as off-site catering, while maintaining strong team communication and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Restaurant kitchen operations experience required.
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel to all locations.
• Able to work nights and weekends.

• Ability to stand for extended periods (~8 hours per day).

About The Role

The Café Assistant Kitchen Manager (AKM) supports the Café Kitchen Manager in leading daily kitchen operations and maintaining operational excellence across all areas of the kitchen. The Café Assistant Kitchen Manager is responsible for driving exceptional standards in food preparation and presentation as established by the Director of Culinary. This role requires at least 45 hours per work week in café. Salary commensurate with experience.

• Serve as a working leader responsible for supporting food quality, food safety, production planning, team development, and operational execution.
• Lead by example, consistently uphold company standards, and assume responsibility for overseeing kitchen operations during Cafe Kitchen Manager absences.
• Participates in special events including off site catering and functions
