Job summary

OMAKAI Hand Roll Bar in Downtown Miami is seeking an Assistant Kitchen Manager to lead and support daily operations on the floor and in the kitchen. You will supervise counter chefs, servers, and host/packer staff, ensuring recipes, standards, and service flow are met across counter and dining areas.

Responsibilities include coordinating shift coverage, maintaining inventory, and assisting with administrative tasks while upholding our five-star service ethos and clean, organized workspace.

Qualifications

• Prior restaurant supervisory or management experience is required.
• Experience in a sushi or Japanese concept is welcome but not required.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and hold accountable all store staff during the shift, including counter chefs, servers, and host and packer staff.
• Ensure the team performs to standard, address issues in the moment, and communicate concerns to the Store Manager.
• Enforce staff policies, dress code, and service standards on every shift.
• Oversee inventory counts, receiving and vendor orders, and documentation as assigned by the Store Manager.
