OMAKAI Hand Roll Bar Downtown in Miami is seeking a Counter Sushi Chef. You’ll own prep, mise en place, hand roll execution, and direct counter hospitality with guests seated at the counter.

One year of restaurant experience is required or a strong willingness to learn. Certifications in Safe Food handling and related areas are required and trained on-site. You’ll work on-site, full-time, in a fast-paced counter setting.

Qualifications

• One year of restaurant experience is required.
• Japanese cuisine knowledge is welcome but not required.
• SafeServ or food handling and other certifications are required and can be obtained during training.
• Comfortable with a knife for portioning and prep work.
• Able to work in full view of guests and explain hand rolls.

Responsibilities

• Station prep and mise en place before service.
• Hand roll execution to standards, ensuring crispy nori and proper temperature.
• Explain hand rolls and ingredients to guests and keep the counter welcoming.
• Follow recipes and procedures during all shifts.
