Job summary

The SLA-sponsored school dining program is seeking an Assistant Kitchen Manager to support daily operations, supervise staff, and ensure food safety compliance in a school kitchen. You will work closely with the Kitchen Manager to maintain high standards of quality and service.

You will assist with menu planning, inventory control, and training, helping staff improve skills and efficiency while delivering a positive dining experience for students and staff alike.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of kitchen experience, preferably in a supervisory role.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Kitchen Manager in daily kitchen operations and staff supervision.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards.
• Help in menu planning and food preparation to meet nutritional guidelines.
• Manage inventory, including ordering and receiving food supplies.
• Train and mentor kitchen staff to improve their culinary skills and efficiency.
