Job summary

Salted in Union City, NJ is seeking an Assistant Kitchen Manager to support quality control, food presentation, and exceptional customer service across shifts.

You will help onboard and train kitchen staff, manage inventory, assist with scheduling and payroll, ensure safety and compliance, and contribute to meetings and catering orders.

This role offers full-time hours, competitive hourly pay of $26-$31, and opportunities for career growth within Salted.

Qualifications

• Solid culinary foundation with knife/prep skills and flat-top cooking.
• Stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Minimum of 2 years kitchen experience.
• Minimum of 1 year leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Support quality control and food presentation standards.
• Communicate effectively with the Hospitality Team for excellent customer service.
• Maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
• Assist in onboarding, training, and developing kitchen staff.
• Assist in managing inventory, conducting audits, and overseeing the budget.
• Help meet financial and operational targets.
• Ensure compliance with recipes and portion sizes.
• Report and resolve customer service issues.
• Assist in scheduling staff and processing payroll.
• Support inventory counts and daily labor management.
• Address equipment and technical issues.
• Assist in executing catering orders while maintaining kitchen service.
