Job summary

Salted is seeking an Assistant Kitchen Manager for our Union City, NJ location. This full-time role supports quality control, food presentation, inventory management, and staff scheduling to ensure smooth kitchen operation.

You will collaborate with the Hospitality Team to deliver excellent customer service, onboard and develop kitchen staff, and help achieve financial and operational targets. Competitive hourly pay plus benefits including meals, health plan, and 401k.

Qualifications

• Solid foundation in culinary skills including knife/prep work and flat-top cooking.
• Minimum of 2 years kitchen experience and at least 1 year in a leadership role.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Support quality control and food presentation standards.
• Communicate with Hospitality Team for excellent customer service.
• Maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
• Assist onboarding, training and development of kitchen staff.
• Assist in managing inventory, audits, and budgeting.
• Help meet financial and operational targets.
• Ensure recipes and portion sizes are followed.
• Report and resolve customer service issues.
• Assist in staff scheduling and payroll processing.
• Support inventory counts and daily labor management.
• Address equipment and technical issues.
• Assist in executing catering orders while maintaining kitchen service.
