Assistant Kitchen Manager Job Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Assistant Kitchen Manager to oversee back-of-house (BOH) operations at a modern public house-style restaurant and bar in Irving, Texas. As the Assistant Kitchen Manager, you will be at the heart of the kitchen’s success, leading a talented culinary team, ensuring high-quality food preparation, and driving efficiency while upholding the restaurant’s commitment to excellence. This concept pairs nostalgic music, steampunk-inspired vibes, and a love for culinary creativity to create an uncommon and exciting dining destination. Key Responsibilities:
  1. Culinary Operations Management: Manage daily kitchen operations, ensuring food preparation meets brand standards for quality, consistency, and presentation. Oversee inventory management, including stock rotation and waste reduction, to optimize costs. Ensure the kitchen operates smoothly during service, addressing issues quickly and effectively.
  2. Team Leadership & Development: Recruit, train, and develop BOH staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team culture. Provide mentorship and coaching to team members, promoting technical skill mastery and professional growth. Schedule and organize BOH staff to meet operational needs and labor targets.
  3. Guest Experience: Partner with the FOH team to ensure seamless communication and timely food delivery. Maintain a kitchen environment that supports an exceptional guest experience.
  4. Safety & Compliance: Enforce all health, safety, and sanitation protocols, ensuring compliance with local regulations. Conduct routine checks to maintain cleanliness, proper food handling, and equipment functionality.

  1. 3+ years of leadership experience in a high-volume kitchen environment.
  2. Strong culinary skills and knowledge of food preparation, safety, and sanitation practices.
  3. Passion for developing team members and fostering a positive work culture.

  5. Proficiency in inventory management, food costing, and scheduling.
  6. Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with FOH leadership.
