Job Summary
Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
Primary responsibility is overseeing the pre-sales production process in a Distribution Center. The main duties include testing, repairing, cleaning, and packaging fast-moving inventory before customer orders are processed. Also, evaluating incoming purchased inventory to ensure quality and proper receipt, owning repair pre-evaluation, and providing technical warranty support for surplus and repair.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Strategic planning for production, packaging, and storage of top-selling part numbers.
- Staging and coordinating high-volume jobs from Receiving through Production to stock.
- Managing pre-evaluation of incoming repair jobs.
- Managing and coordinating surplus and repair RMAs between Production and Customer Service.
- Reporting departmental performance analytics.
- Assisting with quality assurance processes.
- Pre-evaluating incoming surplus bids.
- Ensuring units are complete with all hardware and software.
- Proper labeling of all units.
- Identifying needs and implementing improvements like test fixtures and training.
- Spot-checking units for quality.
- Running and posting daily performance reports.
- Using MRS reporting system effectively.
- Supporting QA surplus team during high workload periods.
- Other duties as assigned by the Production Manager.
Metrics
- Maintain a two-day order backlog or less.
- Pre-cert at least 700 units weekly.
- Exceed previous month's work volume and quality standards.
- Spot check 5 units daily for quality.
- Achieve warranty rate goals of no more than specified percentage.
- Complete one job every five minutes on average.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Supervise 6 employees and 12 QA technicians.
Qualifications
- Proven track record in a technical environment.
- Technical knowledge of products and repair processes.
- Strong computer skills and understanding of production software.
- Previous management experience preferred.
- Positive attitude with leadership skills.
- Ability to work irregular hours, including weekends if necessary.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to handle customer and supplier relationships.
- Problem-solving skills.
Knowledge & Skills
- Computer proficiency, multi-tasking, organization, attention to detail, communication, tool ownership.
Additional Details
- End-of-year bonus based on performance.
- High School diploma or equivalent; 1-3 years related experience; supervisory experience required.
- Experience with electronic industry, drives, and servo drives is a plus.
Physical Demands
- Varied physical activities including lifting up to 25 pounds, standing, walking, and other movements.
Employee Evaluation
- Introductory review at 80 days.
- Quarterly and annual performance reviews.
Work Schedule
Supportive of departmental goals, with flexible hours including potential overtime and weekend work. Attendance policies must be followed.
