Join Our Team as a Sous Chef / Assistant Kitchen Manager!

As our Assistant Kitchen Manager, you will work closely with our Executive Chef and supervise kitchen teammates. We are seeking someone with experience in menu planning and ingredient ordering, with proven work as a Sous Chef or Assistant Kitchen Manager. Good communication, organizational, and conflict management skills are essential.

In this role, you will:

  1. Coordinate daily Back of House operations and supervise food prep, recipe execution, and catering events.
  2. Monitor and develop kitchen staff, evaluate performance, and provide feedback.
  3. Ensure sanitation and safety compliance, maintain inventory, control costs, and identify areas for improvement.
  4. Estimate needs, and prepare reports on revenues and expenses weekly, monthly, and annually.
  5. Engage actively in the energetic environment of Chicken N Pickle, where employees walk around 10,000 steps daily.

Requirements

  1. Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Assistant Kitchen Manager
  2. Bilingual skills are strongly preferred
  3. Hands-on experience with menu planning and ingredient ordering
  4. Knowledge of diverse recipes and cooking techniques
  5. Ability to follow sanitation guidelines
  6. Excellent physical condition and stamina, ability to lift 50 pounds, and stand for extended periods
  7. Conflict management skills
  8. Strong communication skills, bilingual preferred
  9. Ability to manage a team in a fast-paced environment
  10. Culinary school certification or restaurant management degree is a plus
  11. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions
