Job summary

Dick's Sporting Goods is seeking an Assistant Inventory Planner to support Allocation and Replenishment strategies for our less complex businesses. The role focuses on maintaining appropriate store inventory levels to meet financial goals, advertising initiatives, and regional needs, while ensuring new stores launch with correct assortments and inventory levels.

The role requires collaboration with AR Managers, Inventory Planners, Merchants, and Merchandising to place weekly replenishment

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 1-3 years of experience in inventory planning or retail.
• Proficiency in Excel and MS Office.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Customer-service oriented with a proactive mindset.
• Ability to analyze stock and report findings.
• Self-motivated and results oriented.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Allocate bulk purchase orders and place weekly replenishment orders.
• Maintain inventory levels by store location to support sales and margins.
• Collaborate with AR Manager and Inventory Planner on allocation and replenishment strategies.
• Review instock reporting and take timely actions to fix issues.
• Communicate inventory needs by product, size, and color.
• Implement new store plans and ensure proper assortments.
• Identify and execute inventory re-balancing opportunities.
• Respond to store merchandise needs and escalate as necessary.
• Understand item eligibility through ITEL and ensure correct assortment.
