Job summary

Tarrant County College Southeast Campus seeks an Assistant III, Instructional Support to perform instructional tasks in a laboratory setting and assist students through tutoring and teaching. The role requires coordinating with classroom teachers and maintaining lab equipment and materials.

Flexibility in work hours is required; evenings and weekends may be needed. This position is part-time and not eligible for remote work, with monthly compensation starting at $24.28 per hour.

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree and three (3) years’ working experience related to the Essential Performance Requirements, or any equivalent combination of education and work-related experience.

Responsibilities

  • Discusses assigned teaching area with classroom teacher to coordinate instructional efforts.
  • Maintains and checks out to students, equipment used for field production.
  • Plans, prepares, develops, and maintains teaching aids or materials.
  • Maintains software on lab computers and liaises with Academic Computing for lab workstations.
  • Provides secretarial duties for program bids and purchase orders, program recordkeeping for files and advisory committee minutes.
  • Assists students, individually or in groups, with lesson assignments to present or reinforce learning concepts.
  • Researches equipment for purchases.
  • Delegates work duties to work-study student assistants.
  • Previews, orders, and maintains inventories of equipment, instructional materials and supplies.

Job Summary

Required Minimum Qualifications

Associate’s degree and three (3) years’ working experience relatedto the Essential Performance Requirements, or any equivalentcombination of education and work-related experience

Preferred Qualifications
  • At least one (1) year’s working experience with middle schooland/or high school students, particularly in college access,student success, or educational support programs
  • At least one (1) year’s working experience supporting studentservices, recruitment and retention efforts, and educationalprogramming, including assist with planning, coordinating, andimplementing student activities
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with TRIO programs, college accessservices, or first-generation and low-income studentpopulations
  • Skilled in excellent customer service and interpersonalrelationships including strong listening, verbal, and writtencommunication
  • Skilled using computer applications and enterprise systems,including Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Canvas, or otherstudent/program management systems
  • Ability to maintain accurate student records, trackparticipation, and support program reporting and compliancerequirements

Work Environment

While performing the duties ofthis job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanicalparts and is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. Thenoise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
