Job summary

McCarthy Services, part of American Residential Services (ARS), is seeking an experienced Assistant HVAC Service Manager to support the service leadership team and day-to-day operations for residential HVAC Service Technicians. This full-time role offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits.

Reporting to the HVAC Service Manager, you will help supervise the service team, coordinate technician schedules, ensure quality and safety, review payroll, and support dispatch to maintain

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of HVAC service field experience.
• Plumbing experience highly preferred.
• Supervisory background highly preferred.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office Suites preferred.
• Strong understanding of residential HVAC systems, service operations, and technician workflow.

Responsibilities

• Assist with supervising and developing the HVAC service team, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management
• Help coordinate technician schedules, daily assignments, and service priorities
• Support the Service Manager in maintaining efficient operations and high-quality service delivery
• Monitor technician performance, workmanship, and customer satisfaction
• Ensure materials, parts, and equipment are ordered and available for scheduled jobs
• Review departmental reports including inventory, tools, vehicles, and service metrics
• Conduct job site visits and inspections to ensure quality and safety standards are met
• Review payroll records to ensure technicians are properly compensated
• Ensure technicians have the tools, equipment, and resources needed to complete service calls
• Support dispatch operations to ensure appropriate technician assignment and scheduling
