Job summary

McCarthy Services in Virginia is seeking an Assistant HVAC Service Manager to support our service leadership team and help manage day-to-day operations for residential HVAC service technicians. This role reports to the HVAC Service Manager and focuses on delivering high-quality service and customer satisfaction.

You will assist with supervising the HVAC service team, coordinate schedules, monitor performance, and help optimize service delivery while maintaining safety and operational standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of HVAC service field experience.
• Plumbing experience highly preferred.
• Supervisory background highly preferred.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office Suites preferred).
• Strong understanding of residential HVAC systems, service operations, and technician workflow.

Responsibilities

• Assist with supervising and developing the HVAC service team, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management.
• Help coordinate technician schedules, daily assignments, and service priorities.
• Support the Service Manager in maintaining efficient operations and high-quality service delivery.
• Monitor technician performance, workmanship, and customer satisfaction.
• Ensure materials, parts, and equipment are ordered and available for scheduled jobs.
• Review departmental reports including inventory, tools, vehicles, and service metrics.
• Conduct job site visits and inspections to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
• Review payroll records to ensure technicians are properly compensated.
• Ensure technicians have the tools, equipment, and resources needed to complete service calls.
• Support dispatch operations to ensure appropriate technician assignment and scheduling.
