Job summary

McCarthy Services is seeking an Assistant HVAC Service Manager to support the service leadership team and day-to-day operations for residential HVAC technicians. The role reports to the HVAC Service Manager and emphasizes delivering high-quality service and strong technician performance.

Minimum 3 years of HVAC service experience is required; supervisory background is preferred, along with solid leadership and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of HVAC service field experience.
• Plumbing experience highly preferred.
• Supervisory background highly preferred.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office preferred).
• Strong understanding of residential HVAC systems, service operations, and technician workflow.

Responsibilities

• Assist with supervising and developing the HVAC service team, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management
• Help coordinate technician schedules, daily assignments, and service priorities
• Support the Service Manager in maintaining efficient operations and high-quality service delivery
• Monitor technician performance, workmanship, and customer satisfaction
• Ensure materials, parts, and equipment are ordered and available for scheduled jobs
• Review departmental reports including inventory, tools, vehicles, and service metrics
• Conduct job site visits and inspections to ensure quality and safety standards are met
• Review payroll records to ensure technicians are properly compensated
• Ensure technicians have the tools, equipment, and resources needed to complete service calls
• Support dispatch operations to ensure appropriate technician assignment and scheduling
