Job summary

Hy-Vee is seeking an Assistant Human Resource Manager to support payroll, recruiting, employee relations, and scheduling in a fast-paced store environment. You will help ensure staff is properly scheduled, processed in Workday, and that HR processes run smoothly under the guidance of the HR Manager.

The role involves handling confidential information with discretion, assisting with onboarding and training, and coordinating with department heads to maintain staffing and store operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma plus 2 to 3 years of HR and accounting coursework required.
• Hy-Vee experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with payroll input and timekeeping in the Workday system.
• Support recruitment and retention programs and onboarding of new employees.
• Schedule employees and coordinate coverage for shifts.
• Assist with performance reviews and employee relations.
• Maintain confidential personnel records with discretion.
