Job summary

Cheeca Lodge & Spa in Islamorada, Florida Keys, seeks an experienced Assistant Housekeeping Manager to lead daily operations, supervise Room Attendants and Housepersons, and uphold the resort’s exceptional cleanliness and presentation.

This full-time, hourly role reports to the Director of Housekeeping, partners with Front Desk and Engineering, trains staff, manages safety, and ensures VIP rooms are prepared with replenished amenities while maintaining high service standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Minimum 3 years of housekeeping supervisory experience in a resort or luxury hotel.

Responsibilities

• Assign daily tasks to Room Attendants and Housepersons across floors and resort areas.
• Conduct room inspections to ensure cleanliness, guest readiness and maintenance needs.
• Coordinate with Front Desk and Engineering regarding room status, maintenance requests, and VIP arrivals.
• Maintain compliance with safety and health regulations, storage areas, carts and equipment.
• Train, coach and mentor housekeeping staff to foster accountability and pride in service.
• Monitor inventory of cleaning supplies, linen and guest amenities; assist in stocking as needed.
• Handle guest requests and service recovery professionally and promptly.
• Support deep cleaning schedules, room maintenance and special cleaning projects.
• Ensure VIP rooms are properly prepared and amenities replenished.
• Conduct daily briefings and participate in monthly departmental meetings.
• Maintain logs of room inspections, guest feedback, lost & found, and staff performance.
