Job summary

Sofitel Washington DC Lafayette Square is seeking an Assistant Housekeeping Manager to support the Housekeeping Department in delivering spotless guest rooms and public areas, ensuring a memorable stay for guests.

Reporting to the Rooms Operations Manager, you will lead daily operations, guide a diverse team, handle guest concerns, schedule payroll, participate in inspections and training, and uphold safety and sanitation standards.

Qualifications

• Warm and caring personality; previous housekeeping experience an asset.
• Ability to engage with guests with empathy and genuine care for both guests and team members.
• Ability to work cohesively as part of a team with minimum supervision.
• Ability to anticipate guest needs and be professional and welcoming.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise day-to-day operation of the department to ensure service standards are followed.
• Handle guests' concerns and react quickly, logging and notifying the proper areas.
• Provide leadership and guidance to a diverse group of colleagues while building engagement and a sense of value for the team.
• Participate in daily briefing, daily warm up and department meetings.
• Complete daily inspections, ensuring cleanliness of guest rooms, public and heart-of-house areas.
• Inform Room Attendants daily about priorities in their section and report maintenance items.
• Manage weekly scheduling and payroll, and lead the Annual Performance Review cycle.
• Lead recruitment efforts and talent management of team members; oversee training and development.
