Job summary

The Colony Hotel in Maine, part of Pyramid Global Hospitality, seeks an Assistant Housekeeping Manager to support the Executive Housekeeper. You will supervise daily housekeeping activity, conduct inspections, train staff, manage schedules, and serve as on-site leader when needed.

You’ll work with Front Desk and Maintenance, ensure guest room readiness, uphold sanitation standards, and cover Manager on Duty shifts.

Qualifications

• A 2 or 4 year degree in business, hospitality management, or a related field is preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
• Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience in a housekeeping or related hospitality environment, or demonstrated leadership ability.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; bilingual in Spanish is strongly preferred.
• Ability to function in a Manager on Duty capacity as necessary.
• Flexible schedule with availability to work varying days and shifts including weekends and holidays.
• Working knowledge of housekeeping operations, sanitation standards, and health and safety compliance.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise and coordinate daily housekeeping activities, including room attendants and public areas.
• Inspect guest rooms and public spaces to ensure cleanliness and sanitation standards.
• Assist in completing the weekly housekeeping schedule and manage labor within budget.
• Coordinate with Front Desk and Maintenance to ensure room readiness and guest satisfaction.
• Interview, train, and develop associates; monitor performance and provide coaching.
• Perform Manager on Duty shifts as assigned and lead the team on property during those times.
• Maintain lost-and-found procedures and support safety and policy compliance.
