Job summary

Palette Hotels is seeking an Assistant Housekeeping Manager to support the Housekeeping Manager in leading, planning and managing all facets of the department across guestrooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces. The role focuses on cleanliness, guest service, and operational efficiency while developing supervisory talent and managing daily labor and inventory controls.

The position requires 2–3 years of supervisory experience in hotel housekeeping, strong organizational and communication

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2–3 years of supervisory experience in hotel housekeeping operations preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to enforce departmental policies and procedures firmly and consistently.
• Strong organizational, time-management, and motivational leadership skills with a track record of developing junior supervisors or team leads.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to enhance guest and associate relations.
• Familiarity with managing physical inventories and monitoring labor productivity.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Housekeeping Manager in supervising the housekeeping staff, executing performance evaluations, and leading training and development programs for supervisors and hourly staff.
• Oversee daily assignment sheets and floorboards; assume department command in the Manager's absence.
• Conduct secondary inspections of guestrooms, public spaces, storage areas, and laundry facilities to ensure cleanliness and styling standards.
• Monitor and report deficiencies; ensure prompt remediation of substandard conditions.
• Support productivity and labor cost goals based on occupancy; assist in staffing schedules and daily hours.
• Manage inventories of linen, terry, OS&E, and cleaning supplies; monitor usage and ordering; enforce key control.
• Own guest feedback and service scores within departmental indices; resolve issues to improve guest relations.
• Oversee deep cleaning program and enforce procedures for securing lost-and-found items.
• Ensure real-time communication of room statuses to Front Desk to minimize guest wait times.
• Complete additional operations projects as assigned.
