Position Summary
The Assistant Housekeeping Manager supports the Housekeeping Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the housekeeping department and ensuring the property maintains the highest standards of cleanliness, presentation, efficiency, and guest satisfaction.
This position serves as a key member of the housekeeping leadership team and assists with supervising, training, scheduling, and supporting housekeeping staff. The Assistant Housekeeping Manager will help ensure guest rooms, public areas, and other assigned spaces consistently meet company and property standards.
Essential Responsibilities
- Assist the Housekeeping Manager with the day-to-day operation of the housekeeping department.
- Supervise and support housekeeping staff to ensure work is completed efficiently and according to established standards.
- Inspect guest rooms, public areas, and other assigned areas for cleanliness, quality, and proper presentation.
- Assist with daily assignments, staffing levels, schedules, and workflow.
- Monitor room status and coordinate with the Front Desk and other departments to support timely room readiness.
- Train, coach, and provide ongoing feedback to housekeeping employees.
- Assist with onboarding new housekeeping team members and ensuring employees understand department policies and procedures.
- Address guest requests, concerns, and service issues professionally and promptly.
- Help monitor housekeeping supplies, linen, amenities, and equipment and communicate replenishment or maintenance needs.
- Assist with maintaining proper inventory levels and controlling departmental expenses.
- Ensure employees follow all safety, sanitation, security, and company policies.
- Assist with documenting employee performance, attendance, and other personnel matters as directed by the Housekeeping Manager.
- Support the Housekeeping Manager with departmental meetings, projects, inspections, and quality initiatives.
- Step in to lead the department in the absence of the Housekeeping Manager when assigned.

Qualifications
- Previous housekeeping or hotel operations experience required.
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness and quality.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate with employees, management, guests, and other departments.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to train, coach, and motivate team members.
- Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays as needed.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, lift, and perform physical housekeeping-related duties as required.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
