The Washington County Department of Transportation is seeking a committed individual to become our next Assistant Highway Maintenance Manager. This position is vital for coordinating, supervising, and managing a range of maintenance activities for highways and bridges within the Washington County Maintenance Organization. In this position, you will assist the County Maintenance Manager, overseeing all maintenance operations within a designated region of Washington County. Your responsibilities will encompass the comprehensive management of highway maintenance activities within a specific geographical area of the County Maintenance Organization, aligning with both the immediate objectives and the long-term strategic plans established by the County Maintenance Manager.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

• Full-time employment
• Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
• Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

• One year of experience as a Highway Maintenance Coordinator, Roadway Programs Coordinator, or Transportation Construction Manager 1;
• or
• Six years of technical experience in highway maintenance, highway construction, or maintenance of heavy equipment used in highway construction projects;
• or
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirement:

• This position requires possession of a valid PA non-commercial Class C driver’s license or equivalent.
