About This Role
The Assistant Head Nurse in Critical Care provides professional nursing care to patients within the assigned unit, serving as a team leader and assisting the Head Nurse in guiding nursing personnel. This role is ideal for experienced nurses looking to take on leadership responsibilities in a critical care setting.

What You'll Do
- Provide professional nursing care to patients/clients within an assigned unit.
- Diagnose and treat responses to health problems using nursing methods and techniques.
- Serve as a team leader and assist the Head Nurse in guiding nursing personnel.
- Identify and discriminate between physical and psycho-social signs and symptoms.
- Develop, implement, and continuously evaluate the nursing regimen for assigned patients/clients.
- Record and maintain nursing care plans and progress notes on patients/clients.
- Interpret and report responses of patients/clients to appropriate health team members.
- Participate with interdisciplinary health team members to plan comprehensive patient care programs.
- Provide teaching, guidance, and direction to allied nursing personnel.
- Maintain professional competence through participation in continuing education.
Requirements
Experience: Experience as an Assistant Head Nurse preferred.
Licenses & Certifications: Current RN License in New York State.
Additional Compensation
- Annual education differential based on degree: Bachelors in allied health discipline = $900
- Annual education differential based on degree: Masters in allied health discipline = $1,200
- Annual education differential based on degree: Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) = $1,800
- Annual education differential based on degree: Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) = $2,000
- Annual education differential based on degree: Doctorate in Education, Nursing Practice or PhD in Nursing (DNP) = $2,500
- Annual certification differential ranging from $1,878 up to $4,878 for nationally recognized certifications.
- Annual nursing experience differential ranging from $987 up to $8,190 for up to 10 years of experience.
