Responsibilities

About This Role

The Staff Nurse in the Comprehensive Psychiatry Emergency Program provides professional nursing care to patients within an assigned unit, focusing on diagnosing and treating health problems through various nursing methods and techniques.

Highlights

• Pay: $112,775/year
• Location: Brooklyn, NY
• Facility: Woodhull Medical and Mental Health Center
• Department/Unit: IP CPEP EOU ADULT
• Schedule: Full-Time, Day shift (7:30 A.M - 8:00 P.M)

What You'll Do

• Identify and discriminate between physical and psycho-social signs and symptoms.
• Develop, implement, and continuously evaluate the nursing regimen for assigned patients/clients.
• Record and maintain nursing care plans and progress notes on patients/clients.
• Interpret and report responses of patients/clients to appropriate members of the health team.
• Participate with interdisciplinary health team members to plan a comprehensive patient care program.
• Determine and assign components of the nursing regimen for allied nursing personnel.
• Provide teaching, guidance, and direction to allied nursing personnel in patient care.
• Participate in defining, implementing, and maintaining standards of nursing practice.
• Participate in departmental and interdisciplinary conferences regarding nursing practice policies.
• Maintain professional competence through participation in continuing education.

Requirements

Experience:

• Nursing experience as a Staff Nurse required.

Licenses & Certifications:

• Current RN License in New York State required.

Additional Compensation

Annual education differential based on degree:

• Bachelors in allied health discipline = $900
• Masters in allied health discipline = $1,200
• Bachelors of Science in Nursing (BSN) = $1,800
• Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) = $2,000
• Doctorate in Education, Nursing Practice or PhD in Nursing (DNP) = $2,500

Annual certification differential ranging from $1,878 up to $4,878 for recognized certifications.

Annual nursing experience differential ranging from $987 up to $8,190 for up to 10 years of experience.
