Job summary

The Rouse Children’s Center in Youngsville, PA, a division of the Rouse Estate, seeks a Per Diem Assistant Group Supervisor to assist in daily activities and supervise staff under the direction of the Director or Group Supervisor.

You will coordinate activities, monitor safety, and help ensure the well-being and rights of children, while remaining flexible to staffing changes and participating in events and trainings.

Qualifications

• Must meet standards as set forth in PA Dept of Public Welfare, 3270.36 (Child Day care Centers Manual).
• Must have the ability to teach and guide children.
• Must have excellent interpersonal and communications skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the implementation of daily activities under the guidance of the Director or Group Supervisor and in coordination with Assistant Group Supervisor team.
• Coordinate daily activities and supervise aides in the absence of the Director and Group Supervisor.
• Ensure the confidentiality and protection of children’s rights, dignity, privacy, individuality and self-determination.
• Immediately report any incident/accident involving child care staff and/or children to Director or Group Supervisor, including any allegations or suspicions of abuse involving staff, volunteers and the children.
• Properly handle, administer and record any medications taken by the children under supervision of Director or Group Supervisor.
• Conduct daily safety checks of indoor/outdoor environment.
• Must remain flexible in work schedule as staffing levels fluctuate and center’s population increases or decreases.
• Assist with Open Houses, holiday programs, preschool graduation and other special programs.
• Participate in paid staff meetings, appropriate in-services, training and continuing education programs.
• Assist Director and Group Supervisors in completing required assessments.
