Job summary

Sprouts Farmers Market, Inc. is seeking an Assistant Grocery Manager to help oversee one of the busiest store departments. You will support the Grocery Manager with merchandising, inventory controls, and supervising the Grocery team to deliver top customer service.

The role emphasizes leadership, teamwork, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment while upholding health and safety standards. A friendly, proactive approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age and 1-3 years retail management experience. Familiarity with natural foods and alternative diets preferred
• Be dependable and reliable with a flexible schedule that includes nights, weekends and holidays. Walking up to 3 miles per 8 hours is expected
• Strong written and verbal communication and the ability to take and give direction, participating in a team environment
• Outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude and the ability to interact with customers
• Proven leadership ability to build, motivate and maintain staff, with working knowledge of personnel reports, margin reports, weekly sales numbers and financial goals
• Strong focus on detail, analytical and problem solving skills
• Strong organization and planning skills; able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks
• Must vertically transfer milk trays weighing up to 60 lbs., etc. (physical requirements)

Responsibilities

• Assist the Grocery Manager in managing and merchandising the department for maximum productivity and profit
• Responsible for ordering and inventory controls, product quality, and supervision of the Grocery team
• Coordinate merchandising and sales through ongoing planning, direction, goal setting, communication, and teamwork
• Assist in leading a team that brainstorms to deliver the finest quality of product and the greatest customer experience
• Assist in hiring, teaching, training, developing the Grocery Team
• Unload and sort store deliveries
• Ensure execution of health, safety, and sanitation guidelines/regulations by all Grocery team members
• Thrive in a fast paced environment and contribute to overall store success
