Job summary

Jackson County Missouri Parks + Rec is seeking staff to assist with supervising and coordinating the Fred Arbanas Golf Course, including budget control for the retail operation. In the absence of the Golf Professional, you may supervise or act as Golf Professional as needed.

Qualified candidates hold an Associate’s Degree in Parks and Recreation Administration, have completed the PGA Playing Ability Test or are enrolled in the Professional Golf Management Program, and can pass pre-employment

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree in Parks and Recreation Administration or related field is required.
• Must have completed the PGA Playing Ability Test and be enrolled in the Professional Golf Management program before employment.
• Background and drug screen must be passed.

Responsibilities

• Assist in supervising, planning, coordinating and implementing objectives, policies, programs and budget for the Fred Arbanas Golf Course.
• Provide supervision in the absence of the Golf Professional.
• Act as Golf Professional in their absence when needed.
• Manage budget control for the retail store and select/purchase items for the retail operation.

Job Duties

• Responsible to assisting with supervising, planning, coordinating and implementing the overall objectives, policies, programs and budget control for the Fred Arbanas Golf Course.
• Provides supervision in the absence of the Golf Professional.
• In the absence of the Golf Professional, the employee becomes the Acting Golf Professional.
• Responsible for budget control of the retail store budget, selecting and purchasing items for the retail operation.

Minimum Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university, in Parks and Recreation Administration or in a related field.
• Must have successfully completed the PGA playing ability test and enrolled in the Professional Golf Management Program prior to employment.
• Must submit to/pass pre-employment background and drug screen.
