Job summary

American Golf Corporation is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to oversee the golf course and landscaped areas under the Superintendent’s direction. You will train staff, resolve HR issues, and implement agronomic maintenance programs, including stepping in when the Superintendent is unavailable.

Qualifications

• Ability to effectively communicate with co-workers and management.
• Spanish language ability may be required in some locations.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Proven time management, organization and prioritization skills.
• Member of Golf Course Superintendent’s Association preferred.
• Certified pesticide license required.

Responsibilities

• Assist Superintendent in all facets of daily operation.
• Act as Superintendent on duty in the absence of the Superintendent.
• Maintain course appearance and safety by diagnosing agronomic issues & irrigation scheduling.
• Manage maintenance operations, staffing, training, and safety meetings.
• Maintain maintenance records and develop required maintenance reports and budgets.
• Perform manual labor as needed.
• Communicate course conditions with staff and members/guests.
• Support all American Golf initiatives and programs as requested.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
