Job summary

Applegreen is seeking an Assistant General Manager in Montvale, NJ, to help lead daily operations at our travel plazas. The role offers hands-on management experience, guiding a team to deliver excellent service and uphold brand standards across quick-service operations.

You will supervise staff, coach shift leaders, resolve customer issues, and ensure compliance with policies while maintaining cleanliness and accurate cash handling.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience in quick service restaurant or similar management operations.
• Strong leadership and management skills.
• Excellent customer service abilities.
• Excellent verbal and communication skills with a sharp business acumen.
• Ability and willingness to lift/push objects weighing over 30 lbs.
• Flexible and open work schedule.

Responsibilities

• Deliver performance feedback, set goals, foster teamwork, and clearly communicate business objectives.
• Ensure the day-to-day supervision of non-management associates, assign specified work, coach and develop shift supervisors.
• Must be able to competently perform duties in the absence of the general manager.
• Motivate and positively influence staff, especially during times of low morale.
• Strong Leadership and organizational skills.
• Address issues in a timely fashion.
• Ensuring company policies and procedures are followed.
• Maintains awareness of brand standards and procedures to maximize relations.
• Ensures restaurant looks clean, inviting, and adheres to brand standards.
• Ensures cash management is accurate and daily reports are delivered.
• Address customer needs and resolve issues, building positive relationships.
• Performs spot inventory counts and checks to verify inventory data.
