About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Assistant General Manager (AGM) to help lead Sonesta Select Oyster Point in South San Francisco. The ideal candidate has a very strong hotel operations background with proven leadership in front office operations, team building and guest satisfaction. This position plays a vital role in driving Outrageous Hospitality - our company's commitment to creating memorable experiences for guests and meaningful growth for our teams. The AGM works closely with the General Manager to oversee day-to-day hotel operations, build engagement, and ensure smooth, efficient processes across departments. In the GM's absence, the AGM assumes full responsibility for the property's leadership and performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all Front Office operations, including guest service, reservations, and night audit. Maintain the highest level of guest satisfaction scores and employee engagement.
• Partner with department heads to maintain and continually improve service standards, operational efficiency, and profitability.
• Manage daily accounting functions, including daily income journals, bank deposits, accounts payable/receivable, and financial reporting support.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and cost control to ensure financial goals are achieved.
• Maintain compliance with brand, company, and safety standards.
• Lead, coach, and mentor team members to create a positive, accountable, and hospitality-driven culture.
• Monitor guest satisfaction and resolve service issues promptly and professionally.
• Serve as Manager on Duty and assume full responsibility for hotel operations in the absence of the General Manager.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of successful hotel management experience (Department head level and higher)
• Opening hotel experience highly preferred.
• Proven leadership ability with experience managing and developing teams.
• Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays as needed.

Preferred Experience

• Background with Marriott, Hilton, IHG, or Hyatt select service brands.
• Experience with hotel accounting systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience in opening, transitioning, or rebranding hotels a plus.
