Job summary

Plum Market is hiring an Assistant General Manager for Runza at Omaha Eppley Airfield. The AGM will support the GM in daily operations, ensuring guest satisfaction and brand standards in a high-volume environment.

You will lead shifts, assist with recruiting and training, manage inventory and costs, uphold food safety and sanitation, and maintain professional service standards across all team members.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of leadership experience in a food service, hospitality, or retail setting.
• ServSafe or similar food safety certification.
• Ability to pass airport background check and qualify for badging.
• Flexible schedule including mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Experience working in airport or high-volume service environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily restaurant operations, guest service, food quality, staffing, cleanliness and readiness.
• Lead shifts in GM's absence and make operational decisions within standards.
• Assist with recruiting, hiring, onboarding, scheduling, training and development.
• Train and coach Team Members using Runza guides and procedures.
• Provide performance feedback and handle evaluations and corrective action.
• Support inventory control, ordering, receiving, portioning and waste reduction.
• Ensure food safety, sanitation and workplace safety compliance.
• Maintain appearance, uniforms and professional conduct aligned with Runza/ Plum Market.
• Respond to guest feedback and resolve concerns to ensure positive experiences.
• Assist with labor management, sales tracking and financial targets.
• Ensure cash handling, deposits, payroll docs and loss prevention procedures.
• Schedule labor to meet targets while maintaining staffing levels.
• Identify opportunities for improvements and implement corrective measures.
• Communicate updates to the GM and promote Runza's Make It All Better culture.

About the Role:
The Assistant General Manager (AGM) supports the General Manager in leading daily operations at Runza, operated by Plum Market Foodservice at the Omaha Eppley Airfield. This position plays an essential role in delivering exceptional guest experiences, maintaining Runza brand standards, and fostering a positive, productive, and team-oriented work environment. The AGM acts as the GM's right hand and takes ownership in the GM's absence, ensuring operational continuity and service excellence.

What you will do:

• Oversee daily restaurant operations, including guest service, food preparation, staffing, product quality, cleanliness, and operational readiness.
• Lead shifts in the General Manager's absence, making operational decisions while maintaining established service and performance standards.
• Assist with recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, scheduling, training, and developing Team Members.
• Train and coach Team Members using Runza training guides and established procedures, emphasizing food quality and Simply Outstanding Service.
• Provide ongoing performance feedback, establish clear expectations, and assist with performance evaluations and corrective action documentation.
• Work alongside Team Members in food preparation and guest service positions, providing hands-on support during peak business periods.
• Manage inventory, ordering, receiving, portion control, stock rotation, and waste reduction to support food quality and cost-control goals.
• Monitor food safety, sanitation, workplace safety, and airport security compliance, ensuring proper documentation and timely corrective action.
• Maintain restaurant cleanliness, uniform standards, and a professional appearance consistent with Runza and Plum Market Foodservice expectations.
• Respond professionally to guest feedback and complaints, resolving concerns and creating positive guest experiences.
• Assist with labor management, sales tracking, operating expenses, and achievement of restaurant financial targets.
• Ensure accurate cash handling, register reconciliation, deposits, invoices, payroll documentation, and loss prevention procedures.
• Support employee scheduling to maintain appropriate staffing levels while meeting established labor targets.
• Identify opportunities for operational improvement and assist with implementing corrective measures following restaurant evaluations.
• Communicate operational concerns, Team Member issues, and performance updates promptly to the General Manager.
• Promote a positive workplace culture through teamwork, accountability, effective communication, and Runza's Make It All Better philosophy.
• Represent Plum Market Foodservice values and Runza brand standards in all daily operations and guest interactions.
