Applegreen (US) Welcome Centers in Hackensack, NJ, is seeking an Assistant General Manager to help the General Manager ensure smooth day-to-day operations at our travel plaza. This entry-level management role offers hands-on training in supervising staff, controlling costs, and delivering excellent guest service.

You will lead shifts, coach team members, uphold brand standards, manage cash and inventories, and respond to customer needs promptly.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in quick-service restaurant management or similar
• Strong leadership & management skills
• Excellent customer service and positive attitude
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• Flexible and open schedule
• Basic food safety understanding and practice
• Ability to lift/push objects over 30 lbs

Responsibilities

• Deliver performance feedback, set goals, foster teamwork, and communicate objectives.
• Oversee day-to-day supervision of non-management staff and assign work.
• Step in during GM absence and maintain operations.
• Motivate staff and manage morale especially during low periods.
• Uphold brand standards and store procedures to maximize brand and labor relations.
• Manage cash handling and inventory accuracy with daily reporting.
