Applegreen USA Welcome Centers Central Services is seeking an Assistant General Manager to support the General Manager in running day-to-day operations at our NJ‑area travel plazas. You will lead teams, uphold brand standards, and drive guest satisfaction while managing shifts and performance.

The role emphasizes strong leadership, frontline supervision, and hands-on management of store performance, inventory, and service quality in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Strong leadership and management skills with proven ability to motivate and inspire a team.
• Excellent customer service abilities and positive attitude.
• Excellent verbal and communication skills with sharp business acumen.
• Basic food safety understanding and practice.
• Ability and willingness to lift/push objects weighing over 30 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver performance feedback, set goals, foster teamwork, and communicate business objectives.
• Supervise daily store operations, assign tasks, coach shifts supervisors, and manage coverage.
• Step in during GM absence to ensure smooth operations.
• Motivate staff and maintain morale during challenging periods.
• Maintain brand standards, policies, and procedures across locations.
• Ensure accurate cash handling and daily reporting as directed.
