Job summary

Portillo’s is seeking an Assistant General Manager to lead a team of high performers, deliver sizzling food and top-notch service, and create lifelong memories for guests and team members in a fast-paced environment.

You will oversee shifts, scheduling, training, development programs, budgeting, health and safety compliance, recruitment, and key business decisions on inventory and labor, emphasizing hospitality, coaching, and excellence. Flexibility for 50+ hour weeks required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in restaurant management or 1+ year as Assistant/General Manager in a high-volume, fast-paced setting
• Solid knowledge of restaurant ops: recruiting, food planning, purchasing, sanitation, health standards, security
• Demonstrated hospitality mindset and ability to motivate team members
• Strong leadership with coaching and excellence focus
• Financial acumen in restaurant ops and P&L responsibilities
• Excellent communication in English with staff, managers, and guests
• Flexibility to work 50+ hour weeks, rotating shifts including nights/weekends/holidays
• High school diploma or equivalent; sanitation and BASSET alcohol service training is a plus
