Job summary

Applegreen is seeking an Assistant General Manager for our Welcome Centers network in New Jersey. You will help the General Manager ensure smooth daily operations, supervise frontline staff, and maintain brand standards while delivering excellent guest service.

This position offers an entry-level management path with training in leadership, performance feedback, scheduling, cash management, and inventory control, along with benefits such as health insurance, 401(k), PTO, and meal discounts.

Qualifications

• Passionate about helping people learn and grow the business.
• Strong leadership and management skills with ability to motivate a team.
• Excellent customer service and positive attitude.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with business sense.
• Minimum 2 years in quick service restaurant or similar management operations.
• Flexible and open work schedule.
• Basic food safety knowledge and practices.
• Ability to lift/push objects weighing over 30 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver performance feedback, set goals, foster teamwork, and clearly communicate business objectives.
• Ensure day-to-day supervision of non-management associates, assign work, coach shifts.
• Capably perform duties in the absence of the general manager.
• Motivate and positively influence staff, especially during low morale.
• Strong leadership and organizational skills.
• Address issues in a timely fashion and enforce policies.
• Maintain brand standards and brand/landlord/labor relations.
• Keep restaurant clean, inviting, and compliant with standards.
• Ensure cash management is accurate and reports are delivered.
• Address customer needs and build long-term relationships.
• Maintain inventory data with spot counts and checks.
