Applegreen USA Welcome Centers is seeking an Assistant General Manager to help the General Manager run day-to-day operations at our travel plazas. This role provides an entry point to learn essential management skills and exercise judgment and discretion.

You will deliver feedback, coach staff, supervise associates, and uphold brand standards while supporting cash handling and inventory checks to ensure an excellent guest experience.

Qualifications

• Leadership and management skills with proven ability to motivate and inspire a team.
• Excellent customer service abilities and positive attitude.
• Excellent verbal and communication skills with sharp business acumen.
• 2+ years experience in quick service restaurant or similar management operations.
• Flexible and open work schedule.
• Basic food safety understanding and practice.
• Ability and willingness to lift/push objects weighing over 30 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver performance feedback, set goals, foster teamwork, and communicate business objectives.
• Oversee day-to-day supervision of non-management associates, assignment of work, and coaching of shifts supervisors.
• Capable of performing duties in the absence of the general manager.
• Motivate staff, especially during low morale.
• Demonstrate strong leadership and organizational skills.
• Address issues promptly and ensure policies and brand standards are followed.
• Maintain brand standards, store cleanliness, and guest experience.
• Ensure cash management accuracy and daily reporting per directives.
• Address customer needs and resolve issues to build long-term relationships.
• Monitor inventory accuracy via spot counts and checks.
