Assistant General Manager - Aloft / Element North Kansas City, MO

Are you a highly motivated and ambitious hospitality professional ready to take the next step in your career? KMG, a rapidly growing hospitality company, is seeking an Assistant General Manager for the Aloft / Element (Dual Property) in North Kansas City, MO!

This dual property with a total of 200 rooms offers a fantastic array of amenities including WXYZ Bar, Breakfast offerings at both hotels, a 24-hour Fitness Center, an indoor pool, a beautiful outdoor space, and the Diamond Conference Center for versatile meeting spaces.

As the Assistant General Manager, you'll work directly with the General Manager, playing a pivotal role in overseeing all hotel operations and providing essential support and guidance to our dedicated team. You'll be a key leader, inspiring our staff to uphold KMG Hotels' and Aloft / Element's mission, brand voice, and exceptional guest service standards.

What You'll Do:
  • Champion Brand Standards: Ensure all areas of the property and every team member meet or exceed Marriott's brand requirements.
  • Operational Leadership: Assist in overseeing the smooth operation of all hotel departments.
  • Financial Acumen: Support the GM with various finance and accounting functions, including accounts payable, payroll, and banking procedures. You'll also review financial data to identify areas for improvement.
  • Team Development: Foster a positive and energized work environment. You'll assist with setting clear performance expectations, providing constructive coaching, overseeing hiring and training, and ensuring fair treatment and open communication.
  • Guest Experience Excellence: Be readily available and approachable for all guests, proactively addressing concerns and motivating the team to exceed guest expectations.
  • Compliance: Ensure all corporate accounting procedures are followed and hiring practices comply with I-9 and EEO requirements.

What We're Looking For:
  • Four years of guest service/hotel experience, with at least two years in a supervisory role (preferred, but not mandatory).
  • Previous Marriott Select Service and/or Food & Beverage experience is a plus!
  • Fluent in English; additional languages are a bonus.
  • Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, walk, push, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform other physical tasks as required.
