Job Overview

GENERAL SUMMARY: The Assistant General Manager represents UFC Gym and indirectly supervises the Membership Specialist team with support from the General Manager. They provide a welcoming, informative, differentiated, high‑energy experience for all prospective members during gym visits and are held accountable for helping the General Manager achieve membership, coaching, and sales goals.

Responsibilities

• Execute sales and membership metrics, including lead generation, appointment setting, and guest conversion goals.
• Assist the General Manager in training staff to achieve conversion and coaching attachment targets.
• Inspire guests to purchase memberships by presenting UFC Gym’s value proposition and building trust through transparent pricing.
• Ensure the membership department meets monthly targets in new member sales, electronic funds transfer, and point‑of‑sale private coaching.
• Participate in financial and operational planning for the gym, including weekend membership plans, revenue goals, and labor targets.
• Set and communicate monthly, weekly, and daily performance targets to the team.
• Manage the Membership Specialists’ schedule within budgeted hours and business demands.
• Act as “Manager on Duty” as needed to resolve member issues and oversee day‑to‑day operations.
• Model excellent member and team experience by walking the floor, collecting feedback, and providing on‑the‑spot coaching.
• Ensure compliance with company time‑and‑labor policies and health‑and‑safety standards.
• Support front‑desk operations and assist with guest check‑in and service.
• Select, hire, train, and coach Membership Specialists, including developing marketing and lead‑generation skills.
• Conduct weekly meetings to review performance and guide team toward individual and gym goals.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• 1–2 years of management experience supervising 3–10 employees.
• 1–2 years of sales or related experience preferred.
• Experience managing reports, budgeting, revenue, payroll, and analytical skills.
• Strong organizational, customer‑service, communication, time‑management, and analytical abilities.
• Basic computer skills (MS Office, Internet).
• Ability to lift 50–120 lbs., stand for 8–12 hours, and have reliable transportation.
