Job summary

Victra - Verizon Authorized Retailer in the United States seeks an Assistant General Manager to lead a sales team and create outstanding customer experiences in-store. You will develop sales specialists, drive targets, manage store financials, and oversee merchandising to craft an in-store experience that reflects our brand.

The role demands coaching, collaboration, and a proven track record of achieving sales goals in a fast-paced retail environment. Evening/weekend hours may be required.

Qualifications

• Background in customer service within retail, restaurant, or wireless industry preferred.
• 1–2 years of customer service or leadership experience.
• Management experience in a commissions-based sales environment.
• Proven track record of achieving challenging sales goals.
• Balance multiple priorities in a multifunctional environment.
• Experience setting goals, evaluating performance, and developing a high-performing team.
• Basic interview skills and staffing knowledge.
• One or more years of customer service, preferably in retail or sales.
• Willingness to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak vacation periods.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Train and mentor the team to deliver outstanding customer experience, managing customer flow and store traffic.
• Identify skill gaps and implement development plans to exceed sales metrics and quota assignments.
• Run store operations: analyze staffing, report sales data, handle cash, ensure compliance, and open trouble tickets.
• Manage inventory by restocking shelves, maintain device security, and ensure store cleanliness.
• Lead store merchandising and enforce planogram compliance.
• Complete store opening and closing activities.
• Collaborate to achieve store targets daily, weekly, and monthly.

As an Assistant General Manager, you’ll encourage a sales team and create outstanding customer experiences in one of our retail stores. In this role, you’ll develop sales specialists, drive sales targets, manage financials, and oversee store merchandising. You’ll also design an in‑store experience that makes customers feel good about our brand and helps them choose our wireless products and services.

Typical Day

You will take care of your guests, ensure coworkers have what they need, lead by example on the sales floor, coach teams one‑on‑one, and motivate them to reach higher performance. You will also handle operational tasks and lead the team when the General Manager is away.

Compensation

Assistant General Managers earn a national average annual salary of $43,000 to $67,000, which includes a base hourly rate of $17.00 plus uncapped commission.

Training Requirements

All Assistant General Managers must attend and successfully complete a 4‑day New Hire University (NHU) training program within 30 days of their official start date. This class may include overnight travel at the company's expense. Various online and computer‑based training will be required throughout employment.
