Job summary

Orting High School, a member of the 2A SPSL, is seeking applicants for the position of Assistant Football Coach at Orting High School. The successful candidate will support the athletic program under the Director of Athletics & Activities and help prepare teenage athletes for competition and growth throughout the fall season.

Preferred qualifications include coaching or participating in football, knowledge of volleyball techniques, and the ability to meet Washington State coaching standards

Qualifications

• Be high school graduate or GED holder.
• Be at least 19 years old to coach.
• Current first aid and CPR training.
• Flexible schedule and after-school availability.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the high school football program under the Director of Athletics & Activities.
• Maintain after-school activities; preferred dismissal times 2:15 pm M-Thu and 12:45 pm on Friday.
• Ensure compliance with WIAA coaching standards and safety protocols.

Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Experience preferred in coaching/participating in football
• Knowledge of volleyball techniques and strategies
• Be able to meet all W.I.A.A. requirements for the Washington State Coaching Standards
• Ability to communicate positively and effectively with students, parents, staff and community member
• Effective written and oral communication skills
• Strong organizational skills necessary to support running a solid high school program
• Successful experience working with teenage athletes
• Ability to motivate teens to reach their highest potential academically through sportsmanship

Minimum Qualifications

• Be high school graduate or have completed a graduation equivalency diploma (GED) program
• Be at least 19 years of age to be an assistant coach
• Current first aid and CPR training
• Flexible Schedule
• Must be available immediately after school - 2:15 pm

For coaching positions, eligibility for benefits is determined by a number of factors, including the number of hours an employee worked during the last two (2) school years (September 1 through August 31). Coaching positions may not be benefit eligible. Benefits are administered through the Payroll Department. Additional information is available on their district webpage. Regular employees who are also in coaching position(s) and are anticipated to work 630 hours or more in a year are eligible for the following benefits: medical, dental, vision, retirement, life insurance, long-term disability and the employee assistance program.
