Job summary

Hermitage Country Club, located near Richmond, Virginia, seeks a collaborative Food & Beverage Assistant Manager to help lead our dining operation. You will assist the Food and Beverage Director in managing daily service across the Galloway Grill, Tavern, Outdoor Terrace, Tap Room, and banquet events, ensuring member satisfaction.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of progressive F&B management experience, preferably in a private club, hotel, or fine dining environment.
• Proven leadership with a hands-on, service-driven approach.
• Strong organizational and communication abilities.
• Knowledge of wine, spirits, and beverage service standards.
• Experience with POS systems (Northstar software a plus).
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• ServSafe and/or TIPS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and train service staff, ensuring consistent delivery of high-quality service standards.

• Help schedule, evaluate, and manage front-of-house team performance.
• Handle member requests, feedback, and concerns promptly and professionally.
• Monitor inventory and ordering of supplies and beverages in coordination with the Beverage Manager.
• Support the planning and execution of club events, private functions, and special dining experiences.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and compliance with health and safety regulations.

Position Summary

The Food and Beverage Assistant Manager plays a key role in delivering exceptional dining experiences for members and guests. Working closely with the Food and Beverage Manager, this position is responsible for assisting in the daily operations of all dining outlets, events, and banquet services, ensuring a high level of service, staff development, and member satisfaction.
