Position Purpose

Build and lead a cohesive Personal Training (PT) team, ensure a healthy pipeline of clients, and deliver an exceptional fitness experience.

Responsibilities

• Hire, train, schedule, and supervise Personal Trainers.
• Manage payroll for personal trainers, ensuring timely and accurate payment.
• Lead the team and drive sales initiatives, especially during weekends or when the General Manager is absent.
• Achieve month‑over‑month sales targets, grow membership, and exceed goals for new PT agreements, client retention, and revenue.
• Communicate goals, expectations, and procedures to department leaders and staff.
• Ensure all fitness staff maintain certifications such as CPR, First Aid, and personal trainer credentials.
• Provide constructive feedback to personal trainers on performance.
• Maintain high‑quality customer service by addressing member concerns and resolving issues promptly.
• Conduct personalized welcome workouts for new members to evaluate fitness needs and goals.
• Guide members through the initial club experience to promote PT sales, retention, and engagement.
• Supervise facility maintenance, including equipment, locker rooms, and common areas.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and implement safety protocols.

Qualifications

• 2 years of management experience; fitness/personal training management is a plus.
• 2–3 years of customer service experience.
• 1 year of sales experience.
• 1 year of supervisory experience.
• Personal Training sales experience is highly preferred.
• Strong communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
• Excellent relationship building and influencing skills at all levels.
• Strong detail orientation and systematic problem solving.
• Excellent MS Office skills.
• Prior experience or strong interest in the fitness industry is a plus.

Requirements

• Must be available to work nights and weekends.
• Must successfully pass a background check.
• Must have a valid Personal Training certification.
• CPR certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Ability to work in a gym setting; move throughout club floors and rooms; communicate with employees, members, and the public.
• Ability to bend routinely and repeatedly to lift more than 40 lbs.
• Ability to access and operate the Company computer system, including preparing documents, entering data, and reading reports.

Eligible For Additional Compensation Inclusive Of

• Variable income opportunities including commission and bonus.

California Pay Range

$20—$22 USD
