Job summary

Consigli Construction Co., Inc. is seeking an Assistant Safety Manager to support safety program implementation across our regional job sites in New Jersey. You will promote a proactive safety culture, conduct site visits, and train employees to ensure regulatory compliance.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Occupational Safety or Construction Management, OSHA 30-Hour, and travel to sites. Strong communication and leadership skills are essential for success in this on-site position.

Qualifications

• Construction safety experience preferred (concrete, finish and rough carpentry, masonry).
• Knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1926 Construction Standards.
• OSHA 30-Hour Construction Certification required.
• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Construction Management, or related field.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel regularly to job sites.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Maintain company-wide safety policies and develop job-specific safety plans.
• Conduct regular job site visits to ensure compliance with OSHA and company standards.
• Attend internal and external safety trainings as required.
• Lead preconstruction safety meetings and Jobsite Gym activities.
• Perform hazard assessments and implement corrective actions to reduce risk.
• Investigate incidents and near misses; prepare detailed reports and lead root cause analyses.
• Ensure proper use, maintenance, and availability of PPE and fall protection systems.
• Monitor subcontractors' safety compliance and coordinate site-wide safety efforts.
• Collaborate with project teams to plan safe means and methods for high-risk activities.
• Stay current on local, state, and federal safety regulations and industry best practices.
