Job summary

Juniata College is seeking a full-time Assistant Field Hockey Coach-Intern for a 12-month role with a monthly stipend, room and board, and full benefits. The position reports to the Head Field Hockey Coach and supports the field hockey program.

The successful candidate will assist with recruiting, athlete development, practice planning, academic monitoring, and team travel, while contributing to game-day operations and scouting. Commitment to NCAA Division III values is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required.
• One to Three years of collegiate coaching &/or playing experience preferred.
• Knowledge and understanding of NCAA (and Landmark Conference) rules, regulations, and the Division III philosophy.
• Demonstrated ability to coach, recruit, manage, and contribute to a competitive college field hockey program.
• Valid driver's license required, clear of major violations. Juniata College reserves the right to review driving records to determine suitability for position.

Responsibilities

• Leading recruiting responsibilities: communication with PSAs, database management, visit planning, and calendar scheduling.
• Coordinating travel arrangements: meals, lodging, practices.
• Supporting all practice and match preparations.
• Conducting individual workouts and team skill development sessions.
• Contributing to scouting, game-day strategy, and in-game decision making.
• Assisting with summer camps, fundraising, and alumni engagement.
• Participating in departmental functions and committee work as needed.
• Supporting athletic operations and game-day management.
• Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director/Field Hockey Coach.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to; assisting the Head Field Hockey Coach with all operations of the field hockey program, including but not limited to, recruiting, athlete and team development, practice planning, academic monitoring, team travel and meet management.
